I’m pretty sure it’ll never grow old. Every time I see my children curled up with a book, I am just thrilled. Here are just a few recent photos of my children stuck in a book.
Elijah is reading David Livingstone: Africa’s Trailblazer in this first picture.
One morning, I came down the stairs to see this in the living room.
Elijah had made a mound of pillows, blankets, and an exercise ball (?) for reading Garfield. He tends to laugh out loud while reading, and I just love to hear him.
As a special treat, I bought the kids 10 You Wouldn’t Want to Be books. I usually don’t buy them since they cost over $8 a piece, but a friend told me about a online book retailer in the UK. The Book People have book collections that cost a very small fraction of the original price. Including shipping from the UK, I paid around $2.50 a book. The set I bought was a nice review of CC memory work from Cycle 2. I gave these books to the kids as a reward one of our first school days. I was rewarded with this for the next hour (plus lots more reading of the books after that day).
By the way, if you happen to see other great collections from the Book People, please let me know. I was so excited to be able to buy some of my children’s favorite books for such a small price. (Note: The shipping is extremely slow. I think it maybe took 2 weeks or more, but it was worth it.)
