With Bible resources for kids, we all have favorites, don’t we? I am just going to share a few of my favorite books (besides the actual Bible). A friend of mine asked me to write this post so that she wouldn’t forget about the one book that I shared with her. So, here are 3 of our favorites:
The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name – This is just a great resource with Bible stories from the Old and New Testament. I particularly love the Old Testament stories and how they point to Christ. (As a bonus, Isaiah loves that there is a story about Isaiah in this storybook since he usually isn’t in the kids’ Bible storybooks.) There also is an audiobook of this as well as wonderful (simple, low-action) DVDs that are the actual text of it. We got the DVDs for Christmas and would love to lend them out to other local families (so just let me know!)
The Action Bible – My readers love to read from the Action Bible. The younger ones love to look at the comic book style drawings. I love that the stories go into much more detail than a simple children’s Bible story book. I also love that my kids will sit and read it for hours on end (and even compare the story to what is in the actual Bible).
Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers series: These are 4 sweet little books that really help children understand: The Gospel, The Trinity, The Scripture, and The Mission. I particularly like one that explains the gospel, but they are all good. In fact, I think we need to read them again this week now that I found them all and pulled them out for this picture. (These links send you to Answers in Genesis’s store where the books are much cheaper than Amazon. Sometimes, AiG sells them as a set of 4. Here’s a link to the set, but it seems to come and go. )
I’m sure I will think of more favorites in our family, but here’s 3 of them. What are some of your family’s favorites?
